Fire Danger

Buffalo Stadium is closed on North Central district Code Red Fire Rating Days.

Temperature Policy: Heat

Macedon Ranges Shire Council Aquatic and Leisure Temperature Guidelines govern use of indoor court facilities for MRBA activities.

MRSC facilities have a thermometer on court and in group training rooms to measure temperature and humidity MRSC highly encourage all patrons to bring their own water bottle. Water fountain is supplied by the facility for patrons to re-fill their bottles. User groups are highly encouraged to obtain their Level 2 First Aid qualification and understand the treatment of heat illness. (see below) All patrons are encouraged to check weather temperature and humidity level prior to playing with Bureau of Meteorology on (03) 9669 4000 or the web (Redesdale is probably the closest)

Recommendations below are based on court temperatures as at 4 PM for Juniors and 6 PM for Seniors.

  • strongly recommended at 30-34oC: Junior games shortened to 36 min; all games played as 4 quarters; training restricted to light exercise and walk-through of plays only.
  • mandatory at 35-39oC: Junior games shortened to 36 min; all games played as 4 quarters; training restricted to light exercise and walk-through of plays only.
  • mandadory at 40+oC: all activities are cancelled.

Players should bring a filled water bottle. Substitute players shouldb be rotated in regularly If a player appears distressed, they are encouraged to rest, re-hydrate and not be forced to continue to play If symptoms persist an ambulance should be called immediately.
